Marc Richmond Fruit Tree Specialist
I work as a freelance fruit tree specialist covering Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and parts of Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
I trained at RHS Wisley’s fruit department, and have for many years worked as a specialist fruit tree pruner, for commercial orchards and private gardens.
Please see my cv page for details of my experience.
I also offer pruning workshops for community groups, allotment societies and gardeners, talks to clubs and societies, Apple Day events as well as advice and consultancy for individuals, organisations and local authorities.
In addition, I grow and sell a wide range of apple trees focussing on the local varieties of the East Midlands such as ‘Bess Pool’, (named after the little girl who discovered the tree growing in a wood outside Nottingham in the 18th century) and important ‘heritage’ varieties such as ‘Bleinheim Orange’, ‘Orleans Reinette’ and the parent of Cox’s orange Pippin, Ribston Pippin’ .
