Pruning Service
There are many benefits to pruning fruit trees, including; improving the form of the tree, encouraging the development of fruit buds, increasing light and air flow to minimise pest and diseases and help ripen fruit, and let’s not forget opening up the tree so that the fruit can be picked easily!
Young trees need to be pruned from the first year they are planted to get the form right from the start. Most old neglected trees can be renovated back into health and fruitfulness given the right approach.
I offer a pruning service to commercial orchards (I am currently managing a 7000 tree orchard of Bramley, Cox, Ribston and Discovery apples), traditional orchards on farms or managed by HLS agreements, and single trees in private gardens. I have undertaken many pruning contracts for small and large scale cider and dessert apple growers.
